We created a footer menu to display a few links.

The problem is there is a pipe “|” character in front of the first menu. So our menu looks like this:

| Fruits | Vegetables | Fish

We want to get rid of the “|” in front of Fruits but leave the other separators.

It is not there in the demo. This suggests that you may have a blank item published before Fruits. Hard to tell without a link to your site.
