you need to purchase the copyright removal kit to remove it.

if you have purchased it, instructions on how to do so will be sent to you.

Did you mod it or did you buy the removal license?

Spend the $40 and make it legitimate so that you can enjoy support and more templates from Joomlart.

Regarding all those talk about legitimacy recently, one crazy question comes up in my mind:

What do the appropriate laws say when I would, (as a developer member with right to remove the footer line) add there simply “Designed by Rockettheme.com”? Seriously, right now I really got the question if this would also be big a problem when it comes to copyright, to claim the design was done by Andy Miller and his team. Or vise versa, use a RT template and add “Designed by Joomlart.com”….Crazy thoughts?:D

I really don’t know the laws, but I would imagine that if you took a template, as-is, and tried to sell it as your own, that would be illegal under general copyright law.

Or one of the 10 commandments.

PURCHASING a template from Joomlart or Rockettheme or whoever, and making sufficient changes to it and using the template as part of your company website…certainly the template developer cannot hold copyright on that.

So…IMHO the copyright removal package that JA sells is bunk in legal terms, which is why I have argued that they should incorporate it into the price of the standard JA membership in the first place considering that it is CLEARLY about the money anyways.

And let me clarify: I have no problem with the $40. I have a problem buying the package labeled as “Copyright removal”. It’s a shady sale under those premises and makes me feel uncomfortable buying it.

I’d like to also ask..what does that “Designed by ______” even mean? If i have a site that says “Designed by myself” it says that I designed the template, I designed the JomSocial or Kunena or whatever program extensions I have added…I have designed everything.

As I said, to me it’s not about the 40 bucks per se. To be honest I am constructing a site on my localhost and have removed the Designed by Joomlart wording without buying the Copyright removal package. BUT…I did not add “Powered by” or “Designed by” anyone. I just simply removed it and am not advertising who “designed” what.

So…I’m thinking that’s ok. If I have a company called, say “The Professor’s Web Design”, I can feel ok buying the copyright removal package in order to be able to put “Designed by The Professor’s Web Design” on it. But to simply remove the wording and put nothing…can’t be anything wrong with that.

Anyways I will buy the removal package before that site goes live….only because I am a God fearing man and not because I agree with it or think it’s lawful.
