February 23, 2009 at 2:46 pm #138466Yep like the title says what is the procedure for setting up accounts for people who want to sign up.
Is there some documentation for understanding this.

February 23, 2009 at 3:17 pm #293064Hi bookpeg
This is fairly standard Joomla functions. If somebody clicks on ‘Register’ on your Telline registration form, they then have to fill in a standard Joomla registration form which they then submit. Once the system received this (you will also get a confirmation e-mail as system admin), then the system generates a verification link and sends this by e-mail to the new user.
If the user activates their account by following the link in the mail, then they appear in your User List as “Enabled”. If they don’t follow the activiation links, they will not appear as “Enabled” in this list.
Once they have registered and activated their account, they can then ‘log in’ to the site (if you have something that they need to log in for that is!!!).
Hope this helps.

February 24, 2009 at 7:50 am #293223Hi bookeg … me again! 🙂
@bookpeg 114321 wrote:
I think what i was looking for also was a rundown of what the logged in user can do

This is just about anything you want to allow them to do!
As a for instance, on my site, I have a ‘Members Area’ which is ‘pay to view’ content. Unless the user is registered and logged in, they can not access any of the articles in that Section, but can look at the rest of the site.
I’m also in the process of developing a new site which will also have a forum … again, only registered and logged in users will be able to view and post on the forum (that way, you have all their details if they start posting unacceptable comments and you can ban them!).
Some sites also allow logged in users to comment on articles, submit articles, rate articles and even send private messages to other users (as on this site).
Good Luck!
