I have settled in the JA-Teline template comfortably by now. Now, I am trying to find ways to make it even better. One of the things that I would like to figure out is how to transmit my RSS feed (how to Syndicate) from the Blog contents rather than from the Front Page / JA-News Headline contents.

    Reason:

It seems only reasonable that my RSS feed would display, let’s say, the last 30 articles posted, in chronological order, while the Front Page Headline module would display a limited (up to 10) items from a selected “theme.” Using the Syndicate module does not allow for such an arrangement. The bad side is that 30 content items rotating in the Headline would be too much and it would take too long time to display. Also, with all sections and categories mixed, it would be difficult to keep track of the “chronologocal order.”

Pleae look at the website to see what I mean:

    Question:

Is it possible? How? Who? How much?

Thank you Mafsi, this is the only component to replace the JA-Syndicate that I could find (thanks to you.) It allows you to display your RSS Feed as a selected number of latest content items in chronological order from selected sections or categories, instead of the Front Page Items, although this option is also included. (Plus option to include/exclude images.)

Although it is not yet perfect, Martin is very responsive and implements bug fixes/suggestions quickly. After the fine-tuning is done, this will be the component to go with.

I am already using it at http://canadawatch.org and the only thing left to be fixed is the display of summaries/descriptions/intro text in the rss feed that does not show the image placeholders. I am sure this will be solved soon.

    Thanks again.

Did you ever get the RSS to work properly canadawatch? I visited your page and you have it turned off. I would also like to use the blog for syndication.

It is on now. There is a little problem that I did not have time to take care of, yet. If you show titles (headlines) and pictures, it does not show pictures but it shows the picture place holders. When you show just the titles (there is that option, too), it looks like my current RSS feed. Even through feedburner, it still shows the pic. place holders when you include the intro text. (http://feeds.feedburner.com/canadawatch)
I have not tried to contact Martin, (who made this component), but I remember that he was responding quickly and tried to fix bugs on the go. I will have to get back to him, soon. It would be nice to have intro text with all the RSS headlines. The only thing we need to eliminate is the picture place holder. (This is the place holder for the small picture you assign to the intro text that shows on front page.)
