    Hello,

I have a little background in Joomla and am completely new with responsive templates.
Purity III seems to be a very nice starting point for the template I would like to apply to my new website (thank you very much for sharing 🙂 )

My question is how can I test the response of the site according to the screen size with Purity? In other words is there an easy way to toggle between layouts or to simulate various screen resolutions?

In the Putity demo page (http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#purity_iii), at the top of the page, we can choose between widescreen, mobile, etc. Is there such a toolbar somewhere in the template settings? Or an alias where we can put our website in such a canvas?

Second question: do you know where I can find some guidelines about how to make an efficient layout for responsiveness?

    Thank you very much

    Hi there
You can use browser debugger for this testing.
    Thank you,

    Hello,

Thank you for the tip. I’m afraid i need some more info though: which debugger? Where? Provided with Joomla or a browser?

There is no way to get a simple toggle between layouts?

What about some guidelines for responsive design with Purity?

    Thanks for those precisions

Well, one rather simple way is to simply manually resize your browser window – i.e. drag with your mouse.

You can also go into your computer screen resolution settings and change the resolution – to see how your site displays at various resolutions.

    Hi Tom,

    Thank you for your answers.
I was wondering if Joomla or Purity had a specific way to test responsive design. According to your answer it is not the case but you are right the easiest way to do so is to manually resize the browser. After some more generalist researches I found this site thought, which looks quite helpfull: http://responsivetest.net

I’ll go into your links to have a better understanding of how to handle the website layout to make it work in various conditions.

    Best regards,

    Werwack
