    Hello,

    I enabled the ‘Force SSL’ function in ‘Global Configuration’ in a JA Rave site (Joomla 1.5.23), not knowing my whole site would go offline. I also can’t login anymore now. Searching on the internet I understand I need to change the ‘2’ in var $force_ssl = ‘2’; to ‘0’ in globalconfiguration.php, but when I do so and upload it to the server it automatically changes back to ‘2’.

    Anyone have any solution as to what to do now?

    ps: my hosting package does support SSL encryption – I figured it couldn’t hurt to enable the ‘Force SSL function’.

    Hello,

    You probably need to check with your host why it keeps changing, or if you are on cPanel server you can use the build in editor to edit the file locally and change the => var $force_ssl = ‘2’; to var $force_ssl = ‘0’;
    Please let me know if that helps you.

    Thanks pascm,

    After checking with my host they manually changed it for me. As to why the parameter kept changing back… still don’t know, but the site is up and running again now 🙂
