I’ve searched the Joomlart.com but cannot find a guide on how to properly update an existing website to the next Joomla version. Our existing website uses Joomla 1.6.5 and Teline IV and we want to update to the latest version of Joomla 1.7 and latest Teline IV template. Is there a guide somewhere or can you advise me on how to this correctly? For example, do we upgrade Joomla first then simply add the latest Teline IV template, then the various extensions? Is there a certain order we should follow?

Ironically, the Joomlart.com web site is not well designed to find this kind of basic information.

Hi chicat

You need an upgrade of joomla core so you can take a look here
