Something is worring me is the upgrade from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 1.6.

I have some sites build in Joomla 1.5.22 using template JA Putity II, they are OK and working very well.

How will be the upgrade for Joomla 1.6? Is Joomlart working in a new version of JA Purity that will be compatible with Joomla 1.6?

Waiting for the reply too. Would be great if we can just upgrade from 1.5.22 to 1.6

Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.5 are different with different database structure.

JA Purity II for Joomla 1.6 has already been released. You can check our blog for the announcement and download / demo link.

You will have to install fresh purity II and redo the configs. There is no migration steps between the two versions of purity II. and for joomla migration its best to follow the steps recommended by joomla.org site

please check the following link for info and visit joomla.org site for more details :

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/joomla-1-5-to-1-6/

    And that extension:

    Backup database before do anything!

    Thanks for the reply but,
I think the reason that so many people love purity II is not just the template but the simple t3 framework it had in j1.5.
Although I didn’t get my hands dirty with new t3 framework yet, I guess it should be more complex than the old one.
It would be really appreciated it someone bring that old t3 framework back to life.

    Hi,
I have a similar question. In fact I customized Purity II for Joomla 1.5 and now want to migrate to Joomla 1.6 but want to keep the customized template in place. Otherwise I would have to start from scratch. Purity II for 1.6 has a completely different structure. It does not have left.main.right.php anymore.

It really is quite similar but organized differently from the older version of T3. It will need some work putting in but it will almost certainly be less than you think. Give it a go and if you get stuck please feel free to start threads with your questions. We will endeavour to assist.
