Hello,
I am new to JoomlArt, I downloaded ja_larix and I would like to use in my existing web site http://www.meglioinsalute.com running on Joomla 1.0.15.
My web site already has many articles, components and modules, so I would like to install it without installing Joomla form scratch.
I installed ja_larix on my test environment http://www.meglioinsalute.com/TEST and it works, but I can’t understand how to configure it for my web site needs: how to insert products that slide on HP, how to use menus, and so on.
Please could you help me to understand how may I go through the configuration without installing joomla from scratch?
Thank you very much

June 3, 2009 at 5:39 am #306589Hi Laura
Already looking good!
First thing to do is to read the complete JA Larix userguide here:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-larix-userguide-2/That will take you through the basics of the extensions, etc., and how to configure them.
If you then have any specific questions, just post them in the JA Larix forum here:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/forum/ja-larix/And I’m sure other forum members will be able to assist you.
Good luck with the new site.
ChrisJune 3, 2009 at 5:52 am #306592Hi Chirs,
thank you very much for you answer and for the link to the user guide.
Unforunately it is for Joomla 1.5, and I’m running Joomla 1.0.
I tried to follow it, but at a certain point it says:
“On Admin panel, choose Extentions >> Template Manager, click on template name “…
I do not have such a menu with Joomla 1.0…
Thank you very much for your help!
Bye

June 3, 2009 at 5:54 am #306593Hi Laura
Is it worth trying this on the test site:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/upgrade-from-joomla-1-0-to-1-5/
Good luck
ChrisJune 3, 2009 at 6:03 am #306595Hello Chris,
you are right, I’m running Joomla 1.0.15 with Virtuemart 1.1.2, so maybe this is why I have problems with Larix, since as I read on that post, “the template is for joomla 1.0 and for virtuemart 1.0″…
I’m so scared to do an upgrade….
I’ll try it….
Thank you very much for your help !!! 🙂
LauraJune 6, 2009 at 9:58 pm #307191Hello,
I was right when I felt scared about the upgrade…
It took me a long time to go through all the problems I had. >:(
Now I think I’ve (almost) done… 😎In the meantime, I installed Joomla 1.5 in my test environment.
I downloaded Larix for Joomla 1.5 and I tried to install it.
As I read on the user guide, I downloaded the file ja_larix_for_joomla_1.5.v1.4
and installed it in the Extension Manager.
But I received the error:… /tmp/install_4a2ae4f027ad7/css/ja-vm.css does not exist
Please could you help me?
Thank you very much!
LauraJune 7, 2009 at 2:12 pm #307213At the end I tried Qickstart way to install, and I figured it out.
So I’m ok now, but please could you tell me what I did wrong, it is good to know anyway and it may be useful sometimes.
Thanks a lot
Bye
