I would love to have the answer but after months of requests and many topics on these forums, we stil do not have an answer from the JA Team.

Maybe by posting a request for tutorial here, we may see a version of NewsFlash compatible with multilingal content…

What is the problem exactly that you are having, is it only working partly or not at all?

As explained somewhere else (and on many forums here), when you try to use NewsFlash on a multilingal site, here is what happen:

Default config:
– One category called “newsflash” containing the original articles in default langage (english)
then you use Joomfish to copy the english articles and translate them in a second langage (french in my case)

Behavor:
– In english, Newsflash only displays english content
– In French, Newsflash displays the first article in french and then switch back to english

I then tried a second solution:
– created 2 categories : “Newsflash US” and “Newsflash FR”
– duplicated all the articles and put the english in “Newsflash US” and the french in “Newsflash FR”
– used Joomfish to copy the module and changed the setup of the french module to be linked to the french category.

But once again, Newsflash displays the first article in french and comes back to english.

This problem has been mentioned since january 2009 and happens in any Joomlart template. It is linked to Newsflash and not to JoomFish (I use 2.0.3). But the Joomlart team has never been able to fix it and still release templates using it.

So now, I would like a fix ASAP. And I would ike to understand how a problem mentioned 7 months ago is still here and not fixed and how JA continues to release templates using a not working extension !

Do you think it is normal to have so many threads created for the same problem and still no fix by JA team ???

No i do not think thats normal, and neither do i think that JA is providing good support lately.

Keep in mind tho that im only trying to help 🙂

Will at least have a go with this maybe i can figure something out 🙂
