Is there a user guide for how to use the Ja news module?
I’m a complete beginner in regards to this and need the help.

    Thank you.

    Hi bookpeg

You may find this thread useful, I was helping somebody else out with this module!

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/control-which-sections-appear-on-front-page/

If not, just ask further questions and I’ll gladly help.

    Hi bookpeg

I’m not sure I fully understand this question!

The JA News module will ‘pull’ the most recently published article in each of your sections automatically onto the front page of the site.

So, basically, the ‘headings’ come from your section names, and the articles are ‘filled in’ automatically every time a new article is published in each section.

Hope this helps, if not, keep asking questions, we’ll figure it out between us eventually! 🙂

    That information is already excellent

Ok thanks for that — So the information is pulled from those pages — what about placing the images. And can i change the information which is displayed!

Plus i’m going to start another thread on the Spotlight module after this. Btw i think it was you who
helped outline the format for the modules for Ja teline 11 I’m very interested in that. Especially how you format the sizes to that size. I’ll ask that somewhere else perhaps.

ps ——-BTW i don’t suppose so as not to interfere with the context of this thread, that you could answer the reply i made to the adjusting modules thread you commented on at the top of this particular forum ( Ja teline 11 forum )

    Hi bookpeg

I’m happy you are now learning more about JA News 🙂

With regards photographs. JA News will take the first photograph that appears on each article and display this on the front page. The photograph can is automatically resized to any size you wish. You can define this value by editing the JA News module via the Module Manager.

You can also specify number of columns and number of characters that will be displayed:

This also brings me to your ‘module’ question. JA News module doesn’t quite work like any other module. Most modules are a ‘fixed’ size, whereby JA News is ‘fluid’.

For instance you could make the front page be 1, 2 or 3 columns wide, and JA News will automatically resize itself to the space available. Therefore, you don’t have to specify a size for this module, it will work it out all by itself!

    Hope this helps.

In regards to the image showing up in the ja news module when place on the relative article, i placed an image on the relevant article and – you guessed it, nothing showed up.

I also mimicked the image for the module settings you had placed above.

In respect to placing of the modules i haveto wait till i get a response to a thread i opened called more teline random questions.

    Thanks for help thus far.
