You need to install an extension. Search the Joomla extensions forum where there are a couple or you can buy one here….

Well there are other ways but you need to be familiar with coding in javascript to accomplish that. I too would suggest using that plugin if that is the functionality you want. Some of the other shopping cart extensions do have that functionality built in, such as Hikashop. Maybe Virtuemart 2 does but I have yet to give it a go so I cannot be sure.
