I notice today that I have this problem when I try to access the admin page, I have used the right password and cleaned the cash but still have the same message:

    Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.targamat.eu/administrator/index.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
    Here are some suggestions:
    Reload this webpage later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.
    Joomla: 2.5.5
    My website: www. targamat.eu

    Someone has an idea?

    Thanking you in advance.

    Is your sessions.save_path directory writable?
You can use phpinfo(); to see the system specs: http://php.net/manual/en/function.phpinfo.php
The sessions.save_path is needed for storing the authentification sessions for the back-end. The front-end works with cookies.

Thank you Chavan… honestly, as I am tinkerer and not a developer; I could not understand your proposition :-))

I do not think that I modified PHP code… Today I updated the template to the last version via the FTP but I have the same problems…

I would propose to send you my FTP info, perhaps some minutes of expertise is better than hours of discussion 🙂

    Thanking you in advance.

Please speak to your host giving them the exact time you saw this error. They can then look in the server logs where they should get a detailed description of what has happened. Usually when we see these kinds of errors there is a server issue that needs to be looked at but sometimes it can be a problematic script. The only way to tell is to get those logs.

In addition to Phill’s suggestion – make sure you upgrade to Joomla! 2.5.6 which came out yesterday.
    That actually may fix it.

    Have fun!

Many thanks for your propositions, I updated joomla to the new version and put the last template updates and still have the same problem.

I am pretty sure that this have nothing to do with the hosting company but was with template itself as I experienced problems throughout the design time.

As I remember, I had a problem with the template updating K2, and even JCE…

OK, if the error persist I will try to redesign it again on the next week… I will wait about what Chavan think and if there is no result I have to redo the job 🙁

Not suggesting the hosting is at fault thoug quite often 500 errors are down to that (memory limits etc), it is just that the logs will enable us to track down the cause. The error message given should help us locate the exact reason. A 500 error just means that something happend that the server cannot deal with. There could be any of 1000+ reasons for that which is why it is important to get the error message.
