Hi all.
I upgraded an old site from j1.5 to j3.3.Here the old one with Ja Rave template
http://test.radioshock.infoHere the new one with Purity III
http://www.panweb.euIt’s the website of a network of Associations.
So I’ve created a lot of styles, one for each association and one for every different project developed by the associations. This is my categories tree:
1 – Association
2 – – Activity
3 – – Multimedia
4 – – Project 1
5 – – – Activity
6 – – – Multimedia
7 – – Project 2
8 – – – Activity
9 – – – MultimediaAnd so on
This are two example:
Associations: http://www.panweb.eu/yard (category 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9)
Project: http://www.panweb.eu/bttf (category 4-5-6)Now my problem is that in the “homepage” of the project everything work fine, but every single article take the style of the “mother” association because it is in the Association menu with his style…
If the categories are not called by the association menu everything work fine….
I need every project’s article with his own style…Probably it’s a stupid question, but anyone can help me to solve this? :-[:-[:-[
Thank you!

August 21, 2014 at 11:14 am #546852Hello,
If I’ve understood your question correctly, you want one page to have “My Style 1” and another page to have “My Style 2”. If this is what you’re after, once you have created your templates, you can assign the template style to a page is via the Menu Manager.
Go into the “Menu Manager”
Open up the menu item, and under “Template Styles” select the style you want to apply to that page. The menu item is set to ‘Default Template’ by default. You also have to make sure the “Menu Article Type” is also set correctly for the Template style used. You can find out more about this in the documentation under “Layout in Detail” which has helped me.
http://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-templates/purity-iii
Another way of doing it, is to open the template in question, and under ‘assignments’ select the pages you want that style to be applied to. Click ‘Save’.
Hope this helps! 😀

August 22, 2014 at 10:58 am #546963Thanks for your reply…
As you can see following my links, I’ve not problem to have 2 different styles and to assign them to a menu item via menu manager or under template assignements menu…
My problem is that the “project” page as a style, but when you open a sigle item the style in wrong, because it’s the one of his “mother association”… That is my problem.
If i create a menu item that call all the item of a category and i assing it a style it work, but i don’t need it in my menu…gt35m Friendgt35m

August 22, 2014 at 1:36 pm #546975Hello,
If you want the styles to apply to single articles, you’ll need to separate them. What I would do is create a separate category and put the single articles in there.
Then, set the “Menu Article Type” of each article to “Single Article” and under “Template Styles” select the style you want to apply to that single page.
Also, remember to clear all the caches (Joomla!, CDN and Browser).
Hope this helps! 🙂
