Just to offer a comment/thought, if I may . . . .I tend to see issues like this one come up when people attempt the installation process via the Extension Manager. Not that using the Extension Manager is a bad thing – I believe it works as it should more often than not. However, I do tend to see xml error issues arise from Members here and there, and when I ask about the method they used to try to install their template, it’s invariably via the Extension Manager.
In cases like those, I often suggest to them to try the alternative method of unzipping the template files to a folder on their desktop – and I generally recommend downloading/unzipping/extracting the quickstart package – and then using an FTP client (such as FileZilla) to upload all of the files to their webhost server . . . and then, when complete, proceed with the installation process as normal.
Of course, I also provide them with the link to our QUICKSTART INSTALLATION TUTORIAL – which utilizes the FTP transfer method.
MOST of the time (knock on wood), the Member is able to complete their installation without further error – barring any server permission issues and such.
Again, I am NOT saying that the FTP transfer method I suggest is the ‘better” method. The FTP transfer method does take a little more time than the Extension Manager “upload and extract zip file” method (though not significantly so). I simply have personally found that there seems to be less data loss issues via the FTP client method than there seems to be via the EM method . . . . and no, I haven’t the first clue as to why that might be.
Anyway, just thought I’d offer some additional thoughts on the issue – just in case additional re-tries using the Extension Manager continues to yield errors.
I respectfully pass the gavel back to my friend, pascm . . .
😎March 16, 2012 at 7:59 pm #444044Hello, is now in a web that has the version 5.2.17 but also i tested in another that is version 5.0 with the same result. I have not come to operate the administration and i was also unable to enter the data for example. I installed another quikstar in the second with version 5.0 and is working.
I have just read your response and if indeed i have installed the to quickstart services as you mention, decompressing the files on my computer and uploading them with filezilla.i have also read something about this error for example who recommended install the sample data after.Thank you for your answers on everything because I don’t have many knowledge,i am learning, but this case has me disoriented.
I installed another to quickstart services and while I like the kranos and difficult to give up me to fix a fault does not know if i can squeeze in the profundides that are discussed in the forums.I would like to install the kranos and that it will work.

March 16, 2012 at 9:19 pm #444056Well PHP 5.2.17 is a version that many hosts do appreciate for a variety of reasons, i will try to do that on a test server and see if anything is wrong.
But before that can you please download a fresh copy and try again ?
If your host offers a cPanel account there is no need to decompress the files locally on your computer you can upload the zip file (i think it’s safer) and decompress the file on your server directly using cPanel File Manager.
I believe that JA Kranos for J1.5.x is very solid and without bugs

Contemplating doing this has always made me nervous, for some reason . . . but I think I’m going to try it out later today.(perhaps this will be my new “pascm inspired” method . . . unless it royally screws things up . . .
in which case I’ll need the number of a good Hit Man) 😎Manos ModeratorManos

March 16, 2012 at 11:12 pm #444070It’s tested and it’s working on various hosts! If you need my help on that you can always Skype me men 😎
March 18, 2012 at 8:38 pm #444378Thank you two for your help. Now thinking that I am different, since I have already tested several of your quicksstar and all I have worked well, by the way up the files using Filezilla.
The only thing that i have changed, that there is not a little, it is your computer and operating system. Before i had the windows xp and now I have the Windows 7 on a new computer, which explains that do not hold your conversation with the necessary speed,i’ve been livees and athletic programs. So I’m going to return to the old computer to see if the problem is I have myself and my new computer. As soon as you click i say as i have been gone.

March 18, 2012 at 10:10 pm #444392If you would like me to try and install for you please PM me with an ftp account, your current super admin logons and a link to this thread. Please do not delete your current install as I can get all the rest of the information I require from your configuration.php file.
This is assuming you want a quickstart installed?

March 18, 2012 at 11:51 pm #444415Read the users last post.
I have seen this XML error numerous times. It pops up when you presst the “Install sample data” button. There are various ways around it, I had this very same error last week installing a quickstart on localhost.
