February 16, 2008 at 1:11 pm #239285There is not a working 1.5 version of the Justicia template. I have been telling them this.

1 more vote for this one! Wasted a whole day trying to install a Justicia template on a fresh 1.5 install. Layout in Right nav lacks padding, and newslight and slideshow dont work. Why is this template on the 1.5 compatible templates?
While I am at it, could someone PLEASE (mods note!) answer my post at http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/newsflash-direct-access/ . So far, I cant say my membership is money well spent with no templates working as they should and poor support. Rant Rant Rant
February 21, 2008 at 9:22 am #239692OK so here is an error I am getting on slideshow:
Warning: mkdir(images/stories/food/thumb/) [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/wwwad2z/public_html/modules/mod_ja_slidegallery/mod_ja_slidegallery.php on line 312
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg() in /home/wwwad2z/public_html/modules/mod_ja_slidegallery/mod_ja_slidegallery.php on line 318
Incidentally, the fresh install version I am using is Joomla 1.5.1 Stable which is the latest build.
Always hopeful for a reply and solution!
M
P.S. THanks for replying to my other post Kallan

February 21, 2008 at 7:35 pm #239748trigger571 – I would try downloading the 1.5 template again and doing a reinstall of the template. It may also pay to redownload and reinstall the 1.5 extensions just in-case
Just in case there has been some changes made.
good luck

Kate</blockquote>Hi Kate,
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. It really does make a pleasant change as I am finiding this place very frustrating. Anyway, I did download and install the templates and extensions several times but it didnt work. I also tried to install it on the older version Joomla 1.5 as I thought maybe there is a compatability issue on 1.5.1 but got the same problem.
Finally I gave up. Removed Joomla et al, and installed the Quick Install with template Joomla 1.5. It worked! or so I thought…. I tried to change the folders in Module > SlideShow Module > Module Paramters > Images Folder URL and the site crashed giving the error mentioned in my previous post.
To get rid of the error, I was forced to upload the module files again and keep the folders sequence the same.
This might be a bug related to GDLibraries as I have just noticed mine are not enabled. I will be enabling them and try it again to see if anything changes and report back. However, this is certainly a bug as it shouldnt bring an entire site down because of this error.

February 24, 2008 at 7:44 pm #239996Look forward to hearing how you get on. I hope it gets sorted for you.
February 24, 2008 at 10:44 pm #240010I am not vey happy either!
First i tried Justicia template in joomla 1.13 but had probs so i upgraded the security updates on hosting to 1.14 and locked the whole thing up. So i unistalled and though ok lets try 1.5.1 never used before. Tried Avian II couldnt get to load modules then tried JUsticia again managed to sort slideshow out and was moving content around and uploading my own, but the menu crash.I am extremely un-happy and wished i checked out all the complaints on this forum first, i would not have signed up to 70 dollars worth of problems and a total waste of a day and night researching and trying to make work.
When will a STABLE template be available?? or can i get a refund?

February 24, 2008 at 10:47 pm #240011Hi CotswoldD,
Have you tried one of the quickstarts? They are a good option if you are starting a new site.
Also it is very important to go through the readme to install the addon components and modules as there are often configuration changes that need to be made.If you can tell me what version of joomla you are trying now with which template and the exact problems you are having I will do my best to assist – as i’m sure others in the forum will also.
Cheers
