January 5, 2009 at 8:53 pm #136753I have spent days on my teline site, and everything was working fine, and I am starting to get some visitors. Then today, I decided to load another template for another site that I wanted to start, so I ftp(ed) the template to the folder of the new site, when ahead and followed instructions in setting it up. I used the same database information from my original site and set this new site up. Everything went well, and the new site was up and running.
THEN, I went to my old teline page and refreshed the page, and it returned with page not found, so I thought I lost my internet connection, so I checked another site and everything is fine, I tried, tried with the same results(page not found), I tried to login at the backend, returned mismatch(funny when I used the new login for the newsite on my teline backend, it worked but the backend contains the news infor)
Now I dont know what to do, I checked the folder that contains my teline site, and everything seems to be in there, so how do I get my site back (dont ask me if I did backup – I was backing up when my internet lost connection so I only have a patial backup on my computuer, but I think I did a backup with joompack 3 days ago but I dont know where joompack puts the backup file)
So any help in getting my site back would be appreciated:((:((:((bennitos Friendbennitos

January 5, 2009 at 9:04 pm #284774Never ever install in the same database, it is possible if use the prefixes right but i would never recommend it. Now your new install did a overwrite on the data that already was in there.
Joomlapacks backups are stored in:
/administrator/components/com_joomlapack/backup/Information about how you can restore you can find here:
http://www.joomlapack.net/help-support-documentation/joomlapack-2x-documentation/restoring.html1 user says Thank You to bennitos for this useful post

January 5, 2009 at 9:16 pm #284777Connect with ftp to your webhost,
When you are connected browse to the following folder:
/administrator/components/com_joomlapack/backup/There you will find a zip file containing the backup.

January 6, 2009 at 2:53 am #284819you should be able to unzip the file and upload it manually by ftp
the back up also includes your db, so if this were I, and it has been I in the past :(,
I would create a new empty db, upload the files in the zip, then go to your URL and install just like you do joomla, it will prompt you for everything you need, just make sure that you point to the new db and that you click install sample data, that will populate your empty db with the old data and you should be good to go.
make sure you delete your installation folder when your done.
if when your done and you have problems, check you live site url in your config, check to make sure its pointing at the new db, and make sure you have reset up your htaccess if you were using SEF or a third party SEO component.
the good news in all of this is that you have a backup of the site
