I have a webshop running based on Larix. How can Larix (Joomla 1.5.2 and Virtuemart 1.1.0 beta 3) be updated to the newest version? I need your help to explain step-by-step how to do and what files has to be downloaded and installed?

Hi lakaj !
There is simple for update your site , you download Larix quickstart package then install it . you remove new database and replace by current database of your site. because Joomla 1.5.2 and VM 1.1.0 beta 3 have same database table with Joomla 1.5.3 and Vm 1.1.0 stable . so you can use current database for new update.
Note : Don’t forget backup old source and database.

Isnt there a update package for Virtuemart to the stable version?IF it is it would be easier to just upload the upgrade packages?

I have three supplementary questions.

Question 1:
I just installed the quickstart package using a ftp client to overwrite the existing files. It has unfortunately replaced the graphic design with the original Larix design. The result is that I have to restore the graphic design of my webshop. Is it the right way?

Question 2:
Can the original Joomla update from joomlacode.org be used to update Larix further to Joomla 1.5.4?

Question 3:
Can the original Virtuemart update from virtuemart.com be used to update Larix further to Virtuemart 1.1.1?

I have search and couldn’t find update patch of VM form beta 3 to version 1.1.0 stable.

About question 1 , 2:
to keeps graphic changing of your template and update to joomla 1.5.4 you can use original Joomla update from joomlacode.org ( package update from 1.5.2 to 1.5.4).
About question #3 :
VM has patch package update from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 but i can’t find patch to update from beta or RCs to 1.1.0.
My way for updating from beta to stable :
– Download 1.1.0 stable VM , install it in other site.
– Copy that VM source(which has installed ) and replace to VM beta source .
then replace , if posibe there is some param changed , so you must go to admin >> VM –> and reconfigure it.
