Unfortunately around 40% of my visitors still use IE6 :-[ and there is a bug with IE6 and the ‘top’ module position – any links displayed in this position are rendered unclickable and login forms are not fillable. If I change <div class=”innerpad”> to just <div> in the index.php it all works but that also removes the nice transparent background image that sits behind the module.

How can I alter the css so that it still looks nice and works in IE6?

    HI There
IE6 has big problem displaying transparent gifs etc its a well known and documented bug

get the png fix extension from extensions.joomla.org ‘ultimate png fix” I think its called, install and that should make it right

This is quite useful, it allows you to run IE6 alongside IE7 http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE

Is there a solution to this bug yet? The top module position isn’t much use if you can’t display hyper links in it. As a temporary measure I’ve had to create a new css file for IE6 without the background image which apart from aesthetics makes the text hard to read unless I redesign using very pale or very dark header images, which isn’t a solution.

It’s sad but a large percentage of Internet users (37%) are still using IE6 😮 http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
