May 18, 2009 at 11:53 pm #305014Try to add the usual fix first
go to your admin and find your index.php file
add the following code into the first line of your head of that file <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=7″ />

May 19, 2009 at 7:11 am #305046Have you placed tne code in the correct page?
When the compatability button is pressed in IE8 your site looks fine, this woud suggest the code should fix your problem.

May 26, 2009 at 2:44 pm #305898This code helped my site display a little better, but the slideshow is still not displaying and much of the right hand side content. Further help would be appreciated.

May 30, 2009 at 6:22 pm #306257You still do not have the code in the correct place…the compatability button will not be visible if you do it correctly….add the code into the first line of the head section in the index.php
I do not know what you mean about the slideshow…are your images the correct size?

July 24, 2009 at 4:28 am #312052Hello
My user 4 is out, hence my visit here. I tried your code and it works fine on my test site (wamp).
I uploaded the revised index.php and it came up with:
<blockquote>Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter – headers already sent (output started at /home/…/public_html/index.php:2) in /home/…/public_html/libraries/joomla/session/session.php on line 423
