I’m developing a website using JA Magz template. The pages look good on Chrome and Firefox browsers but it does not look good nor run well as all on IE 8. Specifically, there are at least two issues:

    1. A javascript error indicating that the template has more than 32 styles sheets, well it has 38 currently. The result of this is bit and pieces of my website does not show up e.g. background color, missing logo, etc. :((
What is the best way to handle this CSS sheet limit issue?

    2. The website renders very slow compared to Chrome/Firefox. :(( What are ways for optimizing my website for decent performance on IE browser?

I look forward to receiving your opinion / advice.

    Thanks

    Hi stevenle1,

This template has Optimize Css option, did you try to enable it in backend > template manager > general (tab)?

Turning on Optimize CSS helps quite a bit but performance on IE8 is much worse than Chrome or FF. Thanks, Saguaros!

    Hi stevenle1,

A large parts of our recent T3v3 templates (i.e JA Magz) are built on the latest HTML 5 and Css 3 web standards containing the new elements that are supported on the Internet Explorer 9.0 and higher. That is why the site’s appearance on IE8 will not look perfect like on higher IE versions.

Then HTML 5 and Css 3 can be found in our T3v3 template layout elements and also Twitter Bootstrap which is integrated in our T3 system plugin.

Anyways, I would suggest you to refer this tips or a site-performance extension to improve your site’s performance. Hope these helps !
