Have Joomla 1.58, and I installed the ja sanidine II template and added content. All was well, until I tested with IE6.

All of my testing has been with IE7, The site looks good. However IE6 it is missing the background white space, I’m not sure what it’s called, but thats the best I can explain it.

Tried a couple of things, like changing to the narrow setting in the templete, then the background frame shows just fine in both IE6 and 7. Then changed it back to wide, and then problem remains.

I need some suggestions on how to figure this out. I have been some working knowledge of Joomla and can understand most technical discussions.

Am I going to have to reinstall? Perhaps Jom Comment caused the problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

Ok. here is what I have tried so far.

My base Joomla version is 1.58

Removed all 3rd party modules Jom Comments and CB were installed.

Removed ja sanidine II templated, all uninstalls were successful.

Then installed the Ja Sanidine II template again.

Site looks ok in IE7, but IE6 displays with no background frame for the content areas. The site entire page background is there and can be changed.

The demo site for Ja Sanidine II displays ok in my IE6 and 7,

Not sure what to try next, except to install an earlier version of Joomla 1.5x

Anyone with a suggestion. I’ll leave the site just the way it is for a few hours.

Can someone test my site with IE6 and IE7 and tell me if you are seeing the same thing I am.

Problem resolved.

Site now working in both IE6 and IE7.

I took a wild guess and added .wide to the #ja-wrapper line. This was a clean template install, I don’t know why the .wide was not there.

Before

margin: 0 auto;

}

After
.wide #ja-wrapper {
width: 950px;
margin: 0 auto;
clear: both;
