December 28, 2007 at 12:42 pm #124667Dear Joomlart,
I am very, very surprised to see that in the other thread about this HUGE bug there is still no decent answer from support. I would appreciate a good solution to this, as you promise compatibility with IE6 – the still most used browser. This is not a small bug!
So please, would you be so kind as to give a good solution?
Regards,
Tomantoniu1 Friendantoniu1

December 28, 2007 at 1:42 pm #235341Realizing that there is an update for Genista – with no mention of a solution for this, I decided to compare both index.php files. The solution is very simple. To get rid of this problem, copy the below block and paste it over the similar block in index.php.
<!-->
<style type="text/css">
.clearfix {height: 1%;}
h1.logo a, h1.logo a:hover, img, .ja-slideshow-mask, H3,#ja-slidebar ul li a,
#ja-wrapper-top, #ja-wrapper-bottom, #ja-wrapper-inner, #ja-contentslider {
background-position: -1000px;
behavior: url("<?php echo $ja_template_path;?>/scripts/iepngfix.htc");
}
This answer would have helped many others and is important, especially for those that can’t just install new files because of the huge amount of changes to the files. I am surprised no one from support cared to mention this.
Regards,
TomDecember 28, 2007 at 5:19 pm #235354This code there is in the index.php of template.Why add this?

December 28, 2007 at 5:27 pm #235355You should replace this code with the old block in the original index.php. If the code in your current index.php is not exactly the same as the block I gave here, replace it. That’s all. DON’T add it, REPLACE it.
And yes, this is the solution for the png fix problem. I can’t find any problems with the links for IE6, so probably that is solved too.
You can see for yourself at http://www.loamindset.nl. (Unless you have a very weird IE6 version 🙂 )
Good luck, let me know how it works out!
TomDecember 28, 2007 at 9:03 pm #235365Your link http://www.loamindset.nl is ok in my explorer but my site don’t play.Is problem that i have http://domain.com and no http://www.domain.com?

December 28, 2007 at 9:11 pm #235366Hi!
No, I dont think that’s the problem, as my main domainname is http://www.loamindset.nl, loamindset.nl is by DNS set to http://www.loamindset.nl.
What you can check is the properties of the whole script directory of Genista. Set the directory and files to 777 and see if that works. I had set that too to 777. Perhaps that is the trick in combination with the index.php change.
You made sure you really refreshed your browser for your own site? I can tell you that I did the original install and changed the above only. So I think it should work for you too.
Let me know!
TomJanuary 24, 2008 at 9:01 am #237068Hello, same problem, this two solutions not helping. Some type of mask hide most of all links, after refresh is ok, bus after click somewhere is the sa:((me problem back ..
January 24, 2008 at 7:20 pm #237106I replaced this code in my index.php file and it did not fix the IE6 transparency problem with the top menu icons.
I also tried the other solution that was offered in replacing the ja_vars.php and ja_templatetools. php and that gave me really bad results.
Can someone please help!! We have our site almost ready to go and are under a deadline to get this out for our non-profit site.
Thank you.
Beth

Beth,
You MUST set the properties of the whole script directory of Genista. Set the directory and files to 777 and see if that works. That is the trick in combination with the index.php change. It solved it for me, so it should work for you.
Check http://www.loamindset.nl
I will leave our new website online for a few hours only!! You can see the problem is gone with me, and I had it too.Let me know!
TomJanuary 24, 2008 at 10:48 pm #237116Is there a risk in setting the permissions to that?

Theoretically, they would be able to access that directory. But in practice you would faster loose your house. And it is a simple choice: Have a site that doesn’t function, or a slight risk that they access your directory. It works for our new website and I will certainly leave it 777. IE6 is getting less, but still many use it.
