It appears there is a bug with the mega menu drop-down animation, specific to Internet Explorer 7.

For all intention purposes, the drop-down looks fine after it expands. However, the side background images (mega-bg.png) do not align properly during the animation. There is a slight delay, and a little stutter during the animation. This causes the drop down box to look rather clunky as it animates.

You can view this bug on any IE7 box right in your live demo (at first I just thought it was my custom CSS edits)

For further illustration, I captured my screen right as the animation was happening. You can see the misalignment from these screenshots.

The bug was tested on 2 XP boxes running IE7, and a 1 vista machine with IE7. All other browsers seem to be perfect.

Kindly provide a fix for this bug at your earliest convenience.

Additionally, it looks like all the animation types for the mega menu are buggy in IE7. The “fade” and “fade/slide” also look to be out of sync and alignment as well.

Just verified on an additional IE7 machine today.

Can I get a response on this?

Edit: You have the bug fixed on the new “Norite” template.. so maybe you can start looking there?

Figured it out myself. If anyone is looking for the fix:

Just edit mega.class.php, and move the left & right divs into the child-content inner div. All browsers seem to display that identically.

    Hello brettaiello,

I didn’t understand well what you mean by “move the left… into…”.

I don’t know if that has been fixed. But some of my users reported similar issues with IE7.
By myself I’m not using windows and couldn’t test.
So I’m very interested in any fix concerning IE7.

May you tell me how exactly how you solved this case for yourself?
A “before change” and an “after change” code in the mega.class.php may be very helpfull.

    In advance thanks.
