When using k2, I’m able to define the width of the images that appear in the items but I’m unable to define the height. Due to this, i can only use images of landscape orientation as the first picture for each item. If I use a portrait orientation, it would have same width as those of landscape orientation but a height which is way too large.

Is it possible to set the height for portrait orientation to be the same as the width for a picture with landscape orientation?

    Hi darrenf,

I don’t think that you could not define the height of images, please give me an example !

K basically, I need the height of portrait oriented images to be same as the width of the landscape images in thumbnail mode.

    Hi Darren
I have no problem defining the image height or width in K2 images. I use JCE as my main editor, so in K2 i do NOT use the K2 image panel to load images, I click the content button which allows me to use JCE to insert the images and alter all parameters as I normally do.

Do thumbnails for k2 modules (e.g. mod_k2_tools for latest articles) work fine with your solution?

I just tested it. It doesn’t work with the module. The module generates its thumbnails from the image provided by the k2 image panel. Also, the k2 image panel allows you to enlarge the image upon mouse click which is pretty sleek. Anyone has another solution?

Sorry my solution doesn’t cover modules, i won’t bother answering any more of your requests as they never seem to satisfy your needs.

I don’t use K2 a lot due to the limitations and there are other ways to enlarge images on clicks even from JA – but I hope you find a way round it

Thanks for trying though. I’ll post it up if I find out the solution.

I can’t use other modules to extract the articles since I’m using k2. Its my first time using it and yes, I agree there are limitations and its frustrating at times.
