This is a 2-part question.
If you have multiple images in a content (article) listed in “Hot Topic”, how do you control which image is displayed in the module? I am having difficulties because “Hot Topic” seems to just pick one image at random. I have tried re-arranging the images, thinking that maybe the order of their placement in the article is important. However, this is not working.
How do you control the size (dimension) of the image displayed for frontpage article? Looking at the sample “poll of polls” frontpage news item, the image showing Clinton and Obama fit perfectly into the column. However, my images are resized arbitrarily when I make an article a frontpage article. How do I control the resizing?
I know that I am asking a lot of questions, so please be gentle.

For some strange reason, the ‘default’ Telline II installation works very strangely. I found that it always pulls the very last image in the article to the front page!
There was a discussion about this some months ago and Hainn 84 (a JoomlArt Moderator) posted a ‘patch’ which fixed the problem and forces Telline to pull the first image in the article instead. Unfortunately, I can’t find the thread any more! You may wish to PM Hainn 84 and ask him for the location of the patch and do the update so it pulls the first image.
In the meantime, try placing the image you want on front page at the very end of the article!

I had some problems getting this to work. I found the easiest thing to do was to resize the image manually before upload. The size should be fixed to 150 px wide x 200 pixels deep. You will find that this works really well when the front page loads.
I hope some of this is useful.
Good luck with your site.
ChrisJanuary 8, 2009 at 6:55 am #285324Thanks a lot, questbg.
I will PM “Hainn 84” as suggested.
I wish JA will put in some logic with regards to the resizing of frontpaged-articles pictures. With the option you have suggested, we will now have to include two copies of an image in a frontpage story – one small one to account for the image resizing limitations in Teline II, and the other one which will be the full-size picture you really want to display in the story.
Thanks again for your help. I hope JA will come out with a better option.
