Hello, I’ve created an article and uploaded an image, but the image gets cropped in the full article view.
Is there anyway to choose the area of the image which will be used for the Full Article View during the upload or in any other case?
The best thing would be if during the upload of an image, the user can set the area of the image which will not be cropped or which area of the image will be used for the full article view.

I have checked your website and saw that you are using a old version of ja thumbnail. It is the reasion, your image is stretched when you use the height and width attribute in img tag.
To solve your issues, please try to do two ways:
+ Download this plugin and install again.
+ Don’t use the heigth and width attribute in img tag. ex:
<img alt="Heart" src="images/stories/Heart.jpg" height="255px" width="400px"/>
and change to:
<img alt="Heart" src="images/stories/Heart.jpg" />

Are you implying that I used custom settings for the image or that I resized the image? I have not used any width and height for the image nor did I resize it. These are the steps I’ve taken:
1) Content > Article Manager > Create Article
2) Upload image without any setting change
3) Insert picture without any setting change
4) Paste text of the article
5) Save and publish articleAre you sure I am not using the latest JA Thumbnail? I thought the latest version of JA Thumbnail is in the 1.3 package of JA Teline 3. This is the version that was installed fresh with its module and plugins about a week or so ago.
Is there a JA Thumbnail which is more up to date than other plugins because the version my site is running on is 1.3?

Thet would take a substantial re-write of the Joomla editor. That is not really what a template is all about. If you really need a specific area of an imge then create the cropped area yourself in an image manipulation program and upload that.
Or you could disable the cropping feature completely but that sort of negates the point of the plugin.

Right! I think the template itself is not ready for this function. You should need some 3rd party scripts to do the function instead, that requires some skills on HTML and JavaScript.
October 15, 2009 at 7:58 pm #320618How about the picture of Putin on the demo site of Ja Teline 3, this picture is not getting chopped for front page nor in the full view.
How can the whole picture be displayed in the full view by being resized (doesn’t matter if it looks unproportionate)?
