September 20, 2011 at 6:38 am #413816Your text is wrapping as far as I can see on your homepage and on article pages such as this one – http://www.salehighschool.org.uk/about-us/latest-ofsted.html

September 20, 2011 at 3:34 pm #413918Phill,
I’m having the same problem (v1.7 of the tempate)
How can I prevent the template from generating a thumbnail placed in front of the featured article’s title? by the way, I don’t have JA thumb plugin installed.
whats’ the solution?
cheers,

September 20, 2011 at 4:26 pm #413928This is how the template was designed as are most of the JA templates. However it seems that some people do not want this feature so I will try an write up a “how to” later this evening.
Having said that if it is just a single aticle you want on the frontpage instead of the blog style layout then why not just use the article layout for your frontpage?

September 20, 2011 at 4:29 pm #413929Thanks Phill,
Yes, I really look forward to your instructions. I did consider the single article layout but would like the featured articles for my client in this case,
Will you be posting back here?

September 20, 2011 at 5:42 pm #413941Well the whole point of the layout is to make adding a nicely laid out featured articles page.
As you are going to have more than one article on the page what layout would you prefer? Would you still like them to be automatically resized but to a larger size? Do you want the text to wrap or still with an image column or without? Or do you want rid of all the auto features and do it all yourself?
You decide and I will gladly help you achieve that.

September 20, 2011 at 6:00 pm #413948I see what you mean.
I’m looking for the standard Joomla behaviour for the Featured Layout. Meaning, not having the thumbnail inserted for the articles’ title area.
does this make sense?

September 20, 2011 at 6:47 pm #413958Hi Phill Luckhurst
I do not have JA thumnail installed, i follow you instruction, but as you will seen in the website on the 5 txt line between the picture and the text there is strong small image, I have checked the code carfully and there is no error in the code. All i just done on the page about us i put it in the future page, but what i would like is to have the capability to insert picture and allow the text to warp to it. Joomla CMS allow to feature any page in the front page. the fact when you go to the page about us every thinlooks ok, but as front page i dont mind the size but what i would like to be able to have the frontpage feature to be like about us. any idea?

September 20, 2011 at 9:01 pm #413999Philip,
I have looked at your code and I still do not see the code I gave you earlier.
.article-content {
overflow: visible;
}You need to add that to the bottom of templates/ja_community_plus/css/template.css
nor have you removed that width:95px: I detailed earlier.

September 20, 2011 at 9:04 pm #414000Oh, and the front page gush? 95% of people want it that way. They want their articles laid out in a uniform manner which is why JA provide that functionality.
One question, in your case you seem to want a fixed front page? Only one article laid out as you wish. Why use the featured blog layout for that, why not use the article layout which would give you exactly what you appear to be after.
