    Hi,

    Is there a way to have ja_news_fp put an image placeholder when there are no images available for the featured and normal news articles? Right now, in the normal article, it shows a stripe background image on the upper left corner. It would be nice to have an image placeholder to make it look uniform with the rest that have pictures. Thanks.

    That would be a customisation I am sure you could achieve if you are good at coding, otherwise I suggest using an image created by you just for that purpose and adding it in the article manually through code!

    Hi Blaine,

    Thanks for the response. I understand about creating the image myself, but I don’t understand what you mean by “adding it in the article manually through code”. Can you elaborate that further? Thanks.

    Well just like the article would have an image, you create one as a default image, If you want this to happen dynamically, I do not think that is possible with out hacking.

    Hi,

    Can anyone help here with the coding? 🙂

    Have you not looked at how the articles with the coding and picture are done? You would do it just like that put replace the inage with yours after having uploaded it to your site.
    Hev you seen the user guide for Teline?

    Hi Blaine,

    Are you saying that in order to put an image placeholder, I have to put an image in the article just like the other articles that has pictures? Can you please direct me exactly to the information in the Userguide that mentions or explains this, or if you can possible provide me with a hack? I really appreciate you help on this.

    Thanks.

    Well, I did give you a link to the user guide for Teline above.
    I would suggest you open an article and see how it is coded and follow that example.
    Here is sample code for an article from the link I provided you on my previous reply:

    <div class="ja-typo-feature-news clearfix">
    <div class="inner"><img src="images/stories/demo/other/julian-assange.jpg" border="0" alt="Julian Assange" />
    <h2><a href="#" title="Sample link">WikiLeaks Founder on the Run, Chased by Turmoil</a></h2>
    <p>Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetuer laoreet et nec porta interdum. Dictum habitant odio Lorem Aliquam senectus porttitor orci adipiscing augue ac ...</p>
    </div>
    </div>
