Hello guys,
My website production is haulted because for the last two weeks I have not received the solution to this problem.
1) I create a new article
2) I upload the image which I attached here
3) I added random text
4) I saved and published the articleThe results are:
1) The image is resized evenly in the frontpage
2) The image is cropped unevenly in the full article viewInfo:
I am running on a fresh Ja Teline iii Version 1.3 install.
I did not edit any settings on the plugin. I didn’t resize the image. Nothing.I would like to know how to have this crop not happen or to know how I can choose what the cropped version of the image will look like when uploading the image.
One of the support technicians told me to do following, but as you can see in the attached file there is no such code:
+ Open plugins/content/plg_jathumbnail.php,at about line 197, find following code:
function jaResize($image,$max_width,$max_height, $crop=1)
and change to:
function jaResize($image,$max_width,$max_height, $crop=0)

October 27, 2009 at 2:55 am #321680Hi novajugo
Please check my path to file again. In your attachement file, it is plugins/content/plg_jathumbnailtmplthumbnail.php file in your attachment.
October 27, 2009 at 3:15 am #321684Hello, I have checked the path you specified and found the correct php.
1) I edited the php to say crop=0 and saved it
2) I deleted the article
3) I created a new article and repeated the stepsThe image now looks like this in full view

October 27, 2009 at 4:00 am #321690Hi novajugo
In further, we will add an option resized or crop image for this plugin.
You can switch from cropping to resize image via administrator.
Please always check our website for updating.
October 27, 2009 at 4:33 am #321699Thank you developer. Can you tell me how I can change to resize via administrator?

October 27, 2009 at 4:36 am #321701Hi novajugo
Now, this option is not available. We will update asap.
October 27, 2009 at 4:56 am #321706That’s great news developer.
If this update will take more than a week, I have the following question:
What is the normal way I can publish article and insert images? If the template will not currently do it, then how can I manually do it? Uploading two same images?
The important thing is that I will do anything, but I need to know how this can be done. There are many publishers which will need to use strict instructions on posting articles and at the moment I don’t know myself how the image function works.
Thank you

I think I had the exact same issue described in your post (i.e., JA News 2 module was not resizing pictures on pages other than Frontpage with a fresh QuickStart site).
I was able to correct the problem by toggling the blog view ‘enable’ setting on the ‘Thumbnail for Joomla Content’ plugin. To do so:
Open the plugin ‘Thumbnail for Joomla Content’ then look for ‘Thumbnail for Blog view’
Then look for ‘Blog View Mode’ and select Disable. Save the settings.
Now open the plugin and Enable and save again. After this procedure, the thumbnails were resized according to the settings in the plugin. I think this forces the plugin to rebuild thumbnails and re-cache.
Also check module ‘JA News2’, that ‘Auto Resize’ option is set to ‘Yes’. This fixed thumbnails on my FrontPage that were not resized properly.
Best of luck! -
