I would first like to say that this is a very nice template. I used the quickstart method to install it and I have been very happy thus far. I have read through the forum and have found issues similar to mine but wasn’t able to pinpoint the fix so I thought I would post.

My issue has to do with the three smaller articles that are located to the right of the main content area. When I replaced the demo pics with my own they show up as large pics on the front page instead of being auto-sized down to 60 pix by 60 pix. To get around it I have to mnaually resize the pic down to 60×60 in the article itself. Now it shows up like it should on the front page but when you click on the link to view the article, the pic is now way too small b/c of manually resizing it for the home page. I looked at the default.php file located in the com_contentfrontpage directory and the code to auto resize the pic is in there but still won’t work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)

    Hi Jimmy, welcome to JoomlArt.

Can you check that there is a folder called ‘resized’ inside your images folder? This folder is created during install but some server configuration don’t allow Joomla to create folders and so they have to be created manually. If the folder is not there then create a new one and the resizing should then work.

If there is a folder make sure it permissions are set to 755 or 777 if 755 is not working.

If all the above fail then you may wish to PM me a site url and admin details.

That fixed it! The resized folder was there but it had no permissions assigned to it.

    Thanks alot.

I have the same problem Dave has and it’s quite dire, as it basically prevents from using images embedded in the articles.
I’ve set 777 to the resized folder and to all the elements included in it, but no success.

    I’m using JCE editor 1.5.7.4.

    Please advise,

    thanks,

now, please let me know that image is linked from other server, is not it?, the resizing function only works with images putting inside the same website directory

    Hi everyone!
I have try this good template but i have a problem.
The folder RESIZED it’s ok, exist and the permissions is 777.
Now i insert e correct image via ftp for example in the images/stories folder, create article and insert the image via JCE.
In the homepage the original image appear pixelate.
I think it has successfully reduced the image to 60 pixels, but it continues to make me see 200 pixels as the original.
    Why? What’s wrong?:((

A little up for my question!

JCE had set sizes for the image. The image is resized to 60*60 but because you have dimensions set for your images in the JCE editor this is overriding your image sizes and expandin the 60*60 image which is why your images are looking a little blurry.

Open your articles and remove the size attribute from your articles.
