    Hello guys,

I am having some problems with some image thumbnails.

    http://www.panamasportsmagazine.com

    1) The main article image. If you look I can’t get the watermark to properly fit inside the image, it’s cut out in half.

    2) The smaller thumbnails on the articles, in the fornt page, on the right of the main article. The same issue here, the watermark cut out.

I need the watermark to fit nicely inside the images.

    Thank you

    David,
You may or may not have familiarized yourself with the template properties regarding thumbnail scaling.
If not…you’ll find them in ADMINISTRATOR > EXTENSIONS > MODULE MANAGER > JA NEWS MODULE

In the Module parameters you should currently see your thumbnails are set to 170 x 120…and should be in the “RESIZE” mode.

TWO OPTIONS…to always get your logo to show correctly

    1. The master image must be in the same ratio as your thumbnail to be automatically resized perfectly without distortion. So with your thumbnail at 170 x 120…your master image can be 340 x 240 (or twice the size) or 648 x 480 (4 times the size) or any other ratio.

    2. You can create a fake story intro. This is a trick often forgotten. You can always create an intro to a story that is seen in the frontpage teasers…but not seen in the actual article. Simply create the intro of your story, add a READ MORE break, and set the SHOW INTRO parameter to NO. By doing this, you can create a separate image using the ratios above with watermark…and then use whatever other image you want in the body of the story.

One final note. The thumbnails in the JA NEW FRONTPAGE are of a different ratio than your other thumbnails. They are currently set to be a square 60×60…instead of the 170 x 120 rectangle. If you want to keep a rectangle…then change the 60 x 60 to 85 x 60 and it should look perfect.

No matter what you decide to do they need to be the same ratio as your other thumbnails in order for the logo to always be seen correctly.

    Have fun!
    John

Hi, thank you for your response but I’m still having issues with the frontpage image. Managed to fix the smaller thumbs next to the main article image thanks to your tips. Thank you.

I need to fix the main image in JA News Frontpage Module. The watermark is still being cut out.

Any other ideas on how to fix this?

    Hi davidrabinov

    1) The main article image. If you look I can’t get the watermark to properly fit inside the image, it’s cut out in half.

=> I have checked your administrator and saw that in ja thumbnail plugin, you change Crop image to No. It is solution.

Please feel free to contact us if you are in need of further assistance.

I have tried this, but the watermark is still being cut out. It is the only place I’m having this issue.

I’m looking…but not seeing the issue.
All of the main images have the logo showing.

    Has this issue been resolved?

    Thanks!
    John.

    Hi,

I changed the frontpage display to headline_fp.php and it looks ok.

I couldn’t resolve the issue with the other forms of display.

    Thank you for your response.

One other way to do it…would be to relocate your watermark to the very center of the image.
    That way…you can’t miss!

    Best of luck to you.
    John.
