I started to use this template, I am not an expert on joomla and I am having some problems. I hope you can give me some advise to solve some issues.
The web is http://www.oposinet.es.
1. I cannot see the newslight module images. Do you know why? I think that I installed the module correctly…
2. I would like that each one of the “newslight module” sections would link to a certain section on the web (for example, the forum, the gallery…) and not to a contents section as it is now. Would this be possible?
3. How could I modify the menu which is in the upper part? I would like to place links to external webs. Is this feasible?
Thank you very much for your help. I am very interested on using this template but I don´t know if I may be able to transform it into the idea I have thought about.

no, these can only go to sections/catagories, but not components.
I also wanted to do the same thing…so….I turned off the newslight module, then I made a new custom/user module and made what I wanted in html and css and published that to the newslight module position. now I have the look of the newlight module but the links go to components such as the gallery and forum.

June 18, 2008 at 8:42 pm #254485Thanks for your help. I visited your web and this is what I want to do on my web.
But I am not an expert on joomla… can you explain me how you did this on a very detailed way?
Thank you very much again.

June 18, 2008 at 10:00 pm #254498do you know any html?
Log in to your administrator back end
go to extentions/module manager
disable the newslight module
then
on the upper right click on new
from the list click on custom html
enter a title and select your parameters
for position select newslight
for menu assignment select home
enter your html at the bottom box, you can use the editor if you wish, i do not, I just write the code. if you have jce installed you click on the html button and enter your code there.
I made my own graphics and uploaded them using the media manager and then wrote the path to them in the html
you can layout the page using tables or css, i was lazy and used html tables, make sure you use percentages for table and cell sizes so they stretch if your template is set for fluid width.
if this isn’t basic enough, you need to spend time on the joomla forum and read the Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Joomla!
