    Hi,

I installed the JA Pyrite template at http://balochtimes.com/

I originally installed joomla, only to uninstall in an attempt to get this template to display in full. I tried to use the quickstart package and finally gave up after a few days of trying to get anything to show up. Only got a blank screen.

Now I have again installed Joomla using godaddy’s quick 1.5.7 version (loads like a charm).

I tried clicking on the modules to load them up–I would like to start with my frontpage looking exactly like the one I paid for so I can easily swap out images and replace. Is there anyway to do that? I tried enabling all the modules, but they don’t appear as they do in the original.

    http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_pyrite

For example, I tried to get the typo history and slideshow modules to appear. I was able to enable a slideshow on the left (but not the full-size slideshow displayed in the template at the top). It shows up as a small box on the left. I can’t find a way to display it on top.

Any ideas? I am sure the answer is stupid simple, otherwise why buy the template? I am hunting for a tutorial. The Joomla book I bought is not helpful so far…it is guiding me thru a basic template.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi wkjex1 !
why you don’t use pyrite quickstart package ?quickstart includes template and database sample , so it will create a site like in demo.

    Hi,

I did try the pyrite quickstart package and I didn’t seem to have any problems, but when I finished the install, nothing showed up–blank page. And no matter how I tried to pull up the admin page, by typing the path (in my original joomla install it came up when I typed my URL), etc., I couldn’t get to it. Anyway, I tried it twice after deleting everything and re-uploading and installing–same blank page. So in the end, I uninstalled, re-installed the godaddy 1.5.7 version and was then able to figure out to get most of the pyrite components installed. It doens’t look like the original pyrite yet, but I’m getting there. When I figure joomla out I think I’m going to love it. And people on these forums are very helpful. Thank you for your time!

    Wendy
