and maybe other templates too.
As some suggested in previous thread, it is indeed possible to use images from sites outside website. However, there are problems, again, once we go beyond the “Homepage” and view the contents in either the Section or the Category “main page”,
Current Teline II layout. A two colum and one column layout are roughly about 600px and 300 px, respectively.
Problem 1: Even if you specify for the image a maximum width of around 600px and 300 px — for a single and double column layout respectively; if your linked image is greater than either of the aforementioned column widths, the full size of the original images will bleed outside of the column to the column next to it.
Result: You will get a intersecting images from adjacent columns.
Problem 2: The images, from a linked source do not show in the Hot Topic, even if the article title and text of the article appear in the Hot Topic.
The only solution that I found to circumvent both the above problems is to create “thumbnails” (max 300px) of the larger priginal images linked from outside, then place them in the “images” directory of the Teline II site.
The latter is not the best solution, unfortunately because different photo presentation in different websites. Also, a 300px image (for the two column main page of a Section or a Category) will looks very small and inadequate in the one column format for the “article” page.
