Hi, I’m still very new to Joomla, so please be gentle.

I have downloaded and installed JA Community Plus Quickstart. I’m taking things slowly. I’ve manage to get a new logo sorted out (200pxls x 200pxls) and would now like to place a .png text image with a transparent backgound to the right of it.

I don’t want to use .css as I want different text images on different pages. So I’ve installed Flexheader3. However, I understand that to make it work, I have to add some code around <div id=”header” … > in index.php. But my index.php has no such tag:

I don’t understand. If I’m not missing something way beyond my current level of understanding, I suspect I’ll have to write some code but I have no idea what.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Hi,

JA Community plus template uses the template layout structure of our T3v2 framework to display the layout blocks and their elements. You can open templatesja_community_plusblocksheader.php file and add your codes at line around 18th.

However, using an 3rd party extension to change our template elements is not the way we suggest JA members to try on because we can not ensure that extensions can handle the customization task on the template which is built to run on our framework.

There is another way to change a logo on our T3v2 templates that you can easily refer to get your requirement.

Many thanks for your reply. I’ll take on board your advice about 3rd party extensions. However, changing the logo is not the problem. I’ve managed to do that. This is what I’ve got:

The trouble is, it’s all logo. I only want the tree part to be logo because on other pages, I want to have different text. But I’m not sure how to make a position in the header with no code in index.php. If you are saying to put the code in header.php, I may just be able to manage it (although if you can offer any further advice on that score, I’d be even more grateful).

    Thanks again for your advice.

    Hi falcone,

Right. You can easily create a new module position on the header block of JA Community plus template by referring the useful tip.

Sorry for the delay in replying. And thanks for the link. I’ve only just got round to trying it.

I created a new module position in the header which shows when ‘Preview Module Position’ is enabled
    (/mysite/?tp=1).

    I then followed this tutorial[/url].

But the image doesn’t display and I’m at a complete loss.

A pointer in the right direction would be gratefully received.

@falcone: If possible, please send me the site’s url so that I can take a look and give you a more accurate suggestion.

Hope I didn’t waste your time. I got there in the end.

Thanks again for all your help. I doubt you’ve heard the last of me although I’m really enjoying learning to use Joomla. Lots of frustrations but lots of ‘up’ moments too.
