The RSS on my index page (footer) sends me to an ” Error 404 Component not found ” Page.
Can someone please advise me how to get it working?

I fixed the problem, in the “Quickstart” the RSS link on the index.php is:

<?php echo $tmpTools->baseurl(); ?>/index.php?option=com_rss&feed=RSS2.0&no_html=1

I changed it to :

<?php echo $tmpTools->baseurl(); ?>index.php?format=feed&type=rss

Now it works fine.
