Hi
You can go to module manager > select position > slideshow > Open the slideshow module and change the category of articles selected in this module .
This is article category module that loads Joomla article in it .

Anish To make site like demo follow the documentation of template and configure the modules as given in doc .
In your first post u said i installed quickstart , but as per site view it seems you did not installed the sample data .
If you want same site like demo i suggest you to download the fresh quickstart package and install it with default sample data .
