I am new in this forum. In my JA Rutile template there will be some video on the site. I tried to upload a video, but got an error message like as “This file type is not supported”. My video is *.mov type. I am wondering if there is any instructor what I can upload a video in the JA Rutile template or do I need get an extension from Joomla.org or how is the best way to upload a video into this JA Rutile template?

    Dear taknsmidjan !

You can do it following way below :

Go to admin >> site >> global configuration >> select system tab , on Media Settings box , you add “mov” to Legal Extensions (File Types) text box.

    Dear Hainn84,

Thank you for the answer. I did follow your instruction and it seems working in that way. I noticed that the flash opload was not enabled, checked as no, so I quess I need to enable it.

But when I wanted to upload the video into an article, I could not insert a video. I can insert an image, but not a video, and it does not show the video. Is there something more that I need to do so I can insert a video into the article or a simple guide?

    try this plugin

it may be a bit complicated to use if you don’t know how to edit html, but it will do what you want and more

they do give you the script syntax to use

Flash upload is just the upload method, not a switch allowing you t upload flash files. It is disabled because some versions of flash are not compatible with it. You may find with it enabled you cannot upload anything.

I would suggest you look at this extension. It is well known and easy to use. All the instructions are on their website.
