July 16, 2007 at 9:49 pm #224322Try to remove the files manually and install again.
July 16, 2007 at 10:16 pm #224325I did that and it reinstalled the module and about 10 minutes later it was gone again…..do you know what is going on?
Another thing….by default it is pulling everything listed under news, newsflash, etc. Do I need to move all of that content into a different category so that it will not pull it in? I am wanting to use this as a success stories portion of the site where I can out a picture and a story about successful clients.

July 16, 2007 at 10:41 pm #224327In the settings of the module you have to insert the IDs of the categories the module should display.
Concerning your installation problems I cannot give an advice without having a look into your backend. Do other modules and components install without problems? Is this just happening with ja-news?July 16, 2007 at 10:59 pm #224328Yes, only with Ja News. I have many of ther other preinstalled modules already. Do you want to look at the backend? The site is not live, it is in testing right now.

July 17, 2007 at 6:50 am #224362What do you mean by preinstalled modules? Are you saying that ja-news is showing up in frontend but dissapears in the backend?

July 17, 2007 at 5:11 pm #224416I did connect through FTP and remove the files manually. I deleted the ja_news folder, php file and xml file.
I may have used the wrong term by saying pre-installed modules. I meant the modules that wre already prepackaged with that template ie. the header module.
I removed the files manually reinstalled ja_news (received the success notification) and now I can see the mdule under my module manager.
I set it to display in the user 9 module, but it is pulling information from the news/newsflash category and displaying it there. How do I make it pull from a new catgory that I create called success stories?
Also, although it is displaying none of the flash components are working.
see here http://www.ifusionwebdesigns.com/Shannon
thanks for your help
July 17, 2007 at 5:44 pm #224421also, I was going to use slide show pro for the sucess stories, but I could not figure out how to display flash in the site. This may solve my problem and be easier. Can you help me with that?
******I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM************
I was using the wysiwyg editor and that was messing everything up. Hand code from now on. That makes life so much easier. I am new to Joomla and did not realize that I could switch that feature off. Thanks for your help though.

July 17, 2007 at 5:52 pm #224422Who told you to set it to user9? The docu tells you exactly how to proceed. You have to make a new module position and publish it there. To achieve this with antares you have to modify your index.php as well in order to have this position rendered.
