June 13, 2013 at 10:22 pm #188228Hi Guys,
Where can I go to get help?
Tech support didn’t get back to me, other than saying my email address was not on file.
Sorry for asking here but I can’t get this template in order.I decided to install JA Hawkstore having looked at a lot of others.
I chose this also because my existing site already had JA Wall so I thought great same developers similar to understand.
Ahhh no way. All instructions and documentation are written for elite experienced only. I only have a few years Joomla exp.Joomla! 2.5.8
VM latest
Host Buyhttp.comI installed the template, but it’s more than empty.
The Template manager seems so far removed from anything I’ve used before I’m lost.
The instructions got me so far, but they are not specific to the actual template. More generic only.I cant even select the JA Hawkstore look in supplied plugins. Some instructions say select Template name to get Tabs to look same but it does not exist.
Plus, it’s all custom. Mass head, slideshow & product tabs etc. All very complex.
I see no way to simply get the text over the images working right. Also the template manager has multimple layout options but no way to tell if I need to customise it or leave it default.
Is the default even the correct default for this template? There is no examples that explain it.
Even to get started the basic slide show posn does not exist? Sometimes it appears, sometimes not.
It’s like it’s controlled elsewhere.Module positions are by default not set already after install.
So I refer to instructions, but the positions in template manager don’t match the examples in instructions.
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-hawkstore-userguide/I’m going around in circles. Getting deeper and deeper in trouble.
Just trying to get it to look like the sample site. But didn’t want to overwrite all my old site.
I can’t follow the logic or form of your instructions for:
TEXT overlay in slide show. (Sometimes it appears some times it does not)
Jquery, Javascript, issues, add to cart issues,
Masshead, example text..Sorry for the long post, but it’s a real mare for me.
Never had such trouble with a template ever.
If anyone can show me where to go to find a coder who can install this template or advise what to do to fix it please say.Regards Lee – NZ.

June 14, 2013 at 9:35 am #495895Lee,
have you got access to a local host?
If not follow the instructions here for xampp on local computer http://docs.joomla.org/J2.5:Use_Joomla!_on_your_own_computer
If you have I always install a quickstart of the template on my local host to see how the template is working, do this and select to install the demo data.
When you have done that you will see that this template can use different layouts for different pages, in the template manager you will see multiple entries for JA Hawkstore.
This way you will not be messing around with your other site.
Thatch

June 14, 2013 at 11:20 am #495906Thanks for the idea, but for me that is just another whole level of complexity on top.
Also nobody would be able to see what the problem is when I need help. Often the case 😉phong nam Friendphong nam

June 18, 2013 at 4:50 am #496125Hi Kiwilee,
<blockquote>I cant even select the JA Hawkstore look in supplied plugins. Some instructions say select Template name to get Tabs to look same but it does not exist.</blockquote>
In order to display the JA VM Products modules at “tabs” position, you need to create a Custom HTML module which contains below codes inside:{jatabs type="modules" module="tabs" position="left" widthTabs="200" mouseType="click"} {/jatabs}
<blockquote>Plus, it’s all custom. Mass head, slideshow & product tabs etc. All very complex.
I see no way to simply get the text over the images working right.</blockquote>
I saw you created succesffully the masshead module, i.t board riders store.<blockquote>Also the template manager has multimple layout options but no way to tell if I need to customise it or leave it default.</blockquote>
On JA Hawkstore template, our dev team also included 8 template styles with different layouts & themes. In order to use them effectively, you need to understand how our T3v3 framework organises the Template styles & layouts: http://t3-framework.org/documentation/layout-system.html#multiple-layout<blockquote>Even to get started the basic slide show posn does not exist? Sometimes it appears, sometimes not.
It’s like it’s controlled elsewhere.</blockquote>
Select the menu items You want to display it & make sure that the layout of this menu item contains “slideshow” position.Anyways, thank you for your feedbacks. I will discuss with our QA team for improving our userguide in coming template release.
And I recommend you to start our quickstart package which all built-in modules/ styles are available on front-end. Then try to configure & change with your own contents. Once when you are quitely familiar with our T3v3 framework, you can easily customize our layouts/ template styles for your requirements. Hope these help, thanks !1 user says Thank You to phong nam for this useful post
