Hi,
Quick question – is it possible to install WordPress on this theme to use instead of K2? Basically so that Joomla! handles the main site, but any new articles, videos and blog posts are handled by WordPress?
K2 simply doesn’t have enough features for editorial content to make it a viable option for me, while WordPress will not allow me to have custom user-focused tools designed for my site as easily. Installing WordPress on Joomla! seems the most sensical option, but I’m not sure how feasible it is with this template?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone might give me!
Rich
July 3, 2012 at 11:12 pm #459799Sorry, a little more clarification, I mean using a module such as WordPress for Joomla (http://www.corephp.com/joomla-products/wordpress-for-joomla.html) to power the article content, but Joomla! for everything elce on this template – homepage, landing pages, possibly a forum and custom tools.
Thanks,
Rich

JA Nex is standard Joomla template and if normal joomla can handle the modifications you wish to make, i am sure JA Nex would be fine as a template.
But JA Nex uses specific modules to render the frontpage. It uses JA News featured and JA News pro modules. These are specifically customized for JA Nex (Css / html overrides) and you may not be able to use these extensions with wordpress.
I would suggest to try out simpler templates from our portfolio as we will not be able to provide official support for 3rd party extension for a template developed for specific purpose (news site).
JA Nex, JA Teline series (I to IV) are News template and depends heavily on specific extensions to function. Not to mention how confusing they can be for the newbies
Regards
Arvind

Thanks for your informative reply 🙂
I really like the templates (both JA Nex and JA Teline), and need both WordPress and Joomla! functionality at the same time, so will just have to look into ways around it…
Thanks again for your help!
Richard
