I have followed the instructions on installation but am getting:

Hi

Could you please download again the quickstart file from Joomlart servers and start a new installation using a new database ?

also did you verified that your hosting supports minimum requiremennts for a Joomla 3.3. installation like php version ?

@chichestersolar: The error occurs because your server does not enable gd library, you can find out more here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/image.installation.php

Pls have gd library enabled.

I re-installed as suggested and it had the same error. I re-installed without the sample data and it did not have errors. Then I checked the system requirements and noted the SQL database was mysqlnd 5.0.10. I had already upgraded PHP to 5.5.13.

Did you tried enabling gd libraries as suggested above by MoonSailor ?

I will re-configure PHP with GD libriaries and see how it goes. Thanks for your help.
