Could you please download again the quickstart file from Joomlart servers and start a new installation using a new database ?
also did you verified that your hosting supports minimum requiremennts for a Joomla 3.3. installation like php version ?

Pls have gd library enabled.

June 6, 2014 at 8:57 am #538014I re-installed as suggested and it had the same error. I re-installed without the sample data and it did not have errors. Then I checked the system requirements and noted the SQL database was mysqlnd 5.0.10. I had already upgraded PHP to 5.5.13.
