January 4, 2011 at 11:29 pm #158303just two easy question from a joomla newbie,
1. i got your community plus template and installed it. just for safety sakes the quickstart folder is just for simulating your template on xampp, etc. right. so i don´t have to take care about the content of the folder if i install the rest of the folders directly to my domain server, right?!
2. also the source folder issn´t to install to the server. all the data is included in the other folders and this content is just as a recource for modifications right?!
if it´s like that i understand the background files for color changes – but why do put then the typo stuff on it? may i missunderstood but how will you change the typo?thanks for your answers in advance

as i wanted to show the page the template doesn´t appear at all. instead i got following error message on the screen:
Class ‘T3Hook’ not found in /kunden/301213_59969/webseiten/joomla/templates/ja_community_plus/html/com_content/frontpage/default_item.php on line 74
before i had the old helio template running, without any problems.

January 5, 2011 at 12:38 am #370096Please install the JAT3 plugin and all the other plugins and modules from your download package. Once installed make sure all the new plugins, particularly the JAT3, are enabled.

January 5, 2011 at 8:28 pm #370302The quickstart is an easy start. It can be used on a live server or localhost to give you a start off. All the menus and components would be setup in a way the designers wanted. It is then easy to construct a new site from there.
The second use is as you say, to compare settings and play with so you know how to set things up on an existing site. If I was building a new site I would use the quickstart but for an existing site I would have the quickstart on localhost to compare settings etc.
The Source folder is just the images used to create the template. You can take sections of it and modify them if you need. I rarely use it but those who know photoshop well seem to. The type is all built into the template so when you upload the template all the typo is included. Again, this is where you refer to the quickstarts demo content for information on how to use it. Most you have to type in manually using the html editor in the joomla back end.

January 6, 2011 at 12:00 pm #370458Thanks a lot!!!
that was again very helpful, cause little i know from joomla i will defenetly use the quickstart to modified as much as possible to my need before i will start to do the rest on the site itself. -
