Hello, I am running a production site — http://ruhaniat.org/ — with a much-customized version of Purity II. I noticed lately that there are a couple of updates available:
JA Purity II template for Joomla 2.5, 2.5.2
JA T3 System Plugin for Joomla 2.5, 2.5.5

Is it important to do these updates? Is there any guidance for installing them?

Most of the modifications I made as I recall were in the CSS and the Layout (I did try to document my edits but not that well). If I install the update, then copy my present files from “templates/ja_purity_ii/css/” and the “templates/ja_purity_ii/etc/layouts/” directory — is that likely to preserve my site as it is?

You need be careful while upgrading your site as it is much-customized if you upgrade to new version all your customization (about css and image) on your site will be overridden .

You can try this way:

+ Backup all your customization (JA Purity II template is important, JA T3 System Plugin for Joomla 2.5, 2.5.5 may be you no need beause we have fixed some issues on this version )

+ Compare new version with backup version. Redo all customization by comparing with the old version.

Hi Ninja Lead.

Do you think it is worth upgrading only the JA T3 framework ?

My website http://www.sahavre.fr is running JA Purity II version 1.2.0 with JA T3 Framework 1.3.1. I’m not very keen in upgrading the template, but what’s about the framework only ?
