Having issues installing plg_system_jat3.v1.3.1.zip.
Have an upgraded (jupdate) site. Trying to get Purity II to work with it.
Trying to install JAT3 installed.
Downloaded file. Went to “Extension Manager Install”, selected file. Hangs with nothing happening.
Tried finding installation instructions – can’t find any.
Can anyone give me a suggestion as to what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks,

August 27, 2011 at 1:15 am #408857install T3 ( purity, plg typo, and plg system ) via standard joomla practices. Be sure both plugins are active.
things should be fine after that. Let me know if you have more problems.. extmgr will pick up the new files automaticallyIf you want you can use the quickstart version, which includes joomla. this would reinstall joomla for you @ the same time.
August 27, 2011 at 4:55 am #408887It’s a live site that I’m forced to update to 1.7 (my host is forcing me to update ALL my sites, about 30, and I figured I would start with the easiest one). I updated the site (1.5.3) to 1.7 via jupgrade. Update appears to have gone well as I am in the admin updating what I can.
But when I go to this site and try to update T3, it hangs. As I said in my previous post, I download the files called “plg_system_jat3.v1.3.1.zip”. If I decompress that file, it does not have any other packages inside except for folders and files. So I know that the Zip is it. But if I go into the admin of the jupgrade site, it hangs when I try to upload it.
I’m not an expert, but I’ve installed around 30 joomla sites. I know how to install plugins, templates, and so forth. I can’t do a clean install from the beginning as it will erase a lot of information that I don’t want to have to rebuilt, or in other sites, delete members.
So this test on the first site is not going as well as I had hoped. I want to install T3 but it hangs.
Can anyone please give me some ideas of what is happening and how to get it to install?
Thanks,
August 27, 2011 at 4:57 am #408889Never mind – came home and installed it from a Firefox browser and seems to have worked just fine. Now I know that I can’t use Safari at the office to do this step (although Safari was the only one which would allows jupgrade to work).

August 27, 2011 at 7:49 pm #408980jupgrade is a migration tool NOT an updater. You should not be using this for normal upgrades.
while jaextmanager does provide that feature, I personally prefer doing it the “normal” way. sounds like u did the 1.5 to 1.6 path properly. Unfortunately a lot of extensions and such don’t migrate well @ all. I personally had to choose to not migrate as it did not take well @ all. -
