My website hosting is on http://webhostingpad.com
My website is http://ScottCountyGOP.com
I have Joomla 2.5.6 installed
I have a MySQL database created
My website defaults to the default Joomla 2.5.6 splash screen.
From the Quickstart folder, I uploaded “jatc_mendozite_j25.zip” into my “public_html” folder
I used the C-Panel’s “Extract” feature to extract the “jatc_mendozite_j25.zip” file
My website then defaults to “http://scottcountygop.com/installation/index.php” and I receive the “Remember to remove the installation folder” warning.
In other words, it bypasses steps 1-6 (Language, Pre-Installation Check,…), and goes right to step 7 (Finish)
It will not allow me to click on any of the steps (such as 4: Database)I remove the installation folder, and the website defaults back to the Joomla 2.5.6 splash screen, not the JA Mendozite Template.
There was no time where I could “Import Sample Data” for the JA Mendozite Template.
What am I missing? How do I import the sample data?

As an additional note, after I install the Template “ja_mendozite.v1.0.1.zip” and extract it, it places an “index.html” file containing the following html code into my “public_html” folder:
<html><body bgcolor=”#FFFFFF”></body></html>This causes my website to default to a blank page.

July 11, 2012 at 5:28 pm #460622I think that as you already have Joomla installed it is picking up all the details from the blank Joomla. If you want to install the quickstart make sure that the whole of the root is clean i.e. NO files whatsoever there. Only the quickstart package which you can then blow out and follow the normal install.
Hope this helps

July 11, 2012 at 7:39 pm #460631That appears to have resolved the issue. I thought you had to have Joomla installed in order to install the template. I guess I was wrong.
Thanks for the resolution!

You’re not wrong – in the main! :p
If you have installed Joomla you can install any template. If you want to copy the demos on here, the quickstart package includes an instance of Joomla already built with the template and data pre loaded – hence why you can start with a blank directory. Hope thatt explains the quickstart better.
Oh and if you are new to Joomla, I recommend that the first thing you do is install akeeba backup and use it – it’s a life saver!
All the best with the site!
