I’m using the JA Ironis 1.5 template. From the get-go, I had a javascript error for mootools.js on the front-end, but the real major problem is that I installed a commercial component to the website and I can no longer access the dropdown menu on the backend/administrator panel. I was able to copy+paste the system info url and discovered that all of the folders were suddenly unwritable. So here’s what I have done so far (with no success):

    1) I changed the CHMOD for all of those folders to 777 and still nothing was fixed.
    2) I was running 1.5.23; thinking an upgrade might work, I patched to 1.5.24. Still didn’t do anything.
    3) My /media folder is intact too with CHMOD 777, so I’m not convinced that’s the source of the problem. (?)

The frontend site still appears to be functional, with the exception of the menu; there is no animation effect and the dropdown in my menu doesn’t work either. I now have the javascript errors on the frontend for mootools, megamenu and k2. I started customizing the template a few days ago, and never backed up the site files… not the end of the world if I have to reinstall and lose my progress, although I would MUCH prefer not to resort to that.

What the heck could the problem be? This is driving me friggin’ bonkers.
Thanks for any replies or suggestions.

UPDATE: The automatic installation of the JQuery Plugin when the component was installed created the problems. It was disabled and then re-enabled. Problem solved.
