It was fine yesterday. I logged out for the day. Today when I log in to the back end I just get another log in prompt, no password error. I did install latest JCE and new version of Joomlaexplorer now known as Extplorer. Otherwise it is unmodified?

Any ideas? I suppose I could wipe it out and start over, but its a mystery worth solving for future reference.

Solved – sort of…:confused:

I upgraded using the Joomla 1.0.12 to 1.0.13 patch. Backend login works now.
Also, I was about to troubleshoot color tools which were not working, – now they work.

Possible explanation: Extplorer throws an error in 1.0.13. Downgraded to Joomlaexplorer 1.61. Errors went away. Might well be related to login issue.
