I unzipped the Social II quickstart (jatc_social_ii_j3x.zip), set the file permissions, created a mysql db, and set up Joolma for the first time. All good.

After it installed, the site has an empty index.php (from the user side). I can go to administrator/ and sign in and the control panel is all there with articles, categories, templates, etc. I looked at index.php on the server side and it looks ok.

I did the same thing with the Intranet quickstart and it was working fine.

If I take the site offline then the "site is down for maintenance" message comes up.

Any ideas where to start looking?

    Hello

Could you provide as private reply your website url and a temp super user account to it ?

I will have a look at your settings

I turned on maximum error reporting and got this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /var/www/html/social2/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 86

I guess I’m missing a php module called mbstring. I have php version 5.4.16, Apache 2.4.6, Linux 3.10.0-514.6 (CentOS 7)

Installed php-mbstring, restarted Apache and I’m good to go. Easy.
